Each morning, as the sun begins to rise over the horizon, I peel open my eyes and roll over to see my amazing husband lying quietly beside me. At the first sounds of motion my dogs perch up on the side of my bed to greet me and lick my face. I finally zombie walk my way to my kid's rooms to wake them and start our morning routine. I kiss their little heads and breathe in deep the smell of their sweet hair. In this moment... I pause. I am grateful. In this moment, life is incredible. I am blessed. Blessed with love... and happiness. Blessed with children and dogs who track mud onto my floors, leaving a trail of mayhem behind them. But they love me unconditionally... even at my worst. I'm blessed with my husband who drives me nuts during the day, but holds me tight when we go to sleep... and smiles at me when we wake... and tells me he loves me every time he leaves, even if he's just running to the store. I am blessed with an amazing, messy house. It's very lived in. It has chipped paint on the walls and finger prints on the doors but it's ours! I think to myself, these are the best days of my life. I am blessed. I have an amazing family and I have the best job in the world. A dream job. I get to document the best days of peoples lives. People in love. People in celebration. Real actual lives. Chapters in their books. Their beautiful moments, their messy moments, their so happy they cry moments! I get to be an artist. A story teller. A memory keeper.

And in that beautiful moment I am thankful, because this is the stuff dreams are made of.
